Some Days are Better than Others
Today was a very lousy day. It made me think about a statement that was made at my 10 year high school reunion. A classmate, when asked what he had accomplished over the past 10 years answered, "What's 10 years compared to eternity?" Indeed. Think about how time enters into the scope of things. In the overall scheme of things it is really the ONLY dimension. For example, if it doesn't take much time to get someplace, it is close. If it takes a long time, it is far away. Then, if something is infinitely far away, that's an eternity. Now, would it would take forever to get there -OR- would I never get there. Time in the overall scheme of things can be extremely thought provoking. NEWS FLASH!!! I am now in a better mood!!! Marla has purchased a "Sonic Alert" alarm clock for our daughter. The youngster is going to college and is a sound sleeper. This thing makes a sound, flashes a light, and vibrates a device which can be put under the mattress. Time for a test as Marla assembles the components, plugs everything in, sets the time . . . . . and . . . . Marla just scared herself testing it. Neat! She jumped off the floor and yelled, "Oh, shit!! Make it stop!!" The obnoxious beeping and light flashing, accompanied by the jumping around of the vibrating device on the counter top, all of which started unexpectedly did the job. This thing is really cool!! I'm glad to know that the complete shock and surprise of your wife acts as the prime catalyst for your mood change. Perhaps next time if you're feeling irritated, you can jump out from behind a door (or something similar) to lighten your spirits...
